Privacy Policy

Gradenote is a capstone project, currently running as a pilot build. This policy explains what happens to your information while you use it.

What gets processed

When you use Autograde, the text of the document or pasted essay you're grading is sent to Gradenote's server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API to generate a score and feedback. That text isn't stored after grading completes.

Sign-in

Sign-in only asks for an email so the extension can show who is grading. No password is collected or stored. Real authentication (Gradenote accounts and optional Canvas login) is planned but not yet built.

Course and gradebook data

Course, assignment, and student information shown in this pilot is sample data, not a live connection to Canvas or any real school system. "Publish to Canvas" writes to this pilot's own sample gradebook, not to any real course.

Third parties

Gradenote uses Google's Gemini API to generate grading feedback, and Google Fonts to load this website's typography.
